What Alex Wears... while he engages in a high speed chase

As you can see here on a beautiful fall day in Maine this outfit is great for sliding over your car hood so you can hop in and chase down some no good hippies (or punks, your choice).  The shoes let them know you're coming and the jacket is short, ensuring it won't get stuck on the car hood, and the aviators let em know you aren't fucking around.

The actual outfit is a white button-down oxford shirt, a blue wool tie, an orange 1/4 zip sweater, my trusty cuffed dark blue levi's, a suede pseudo-blazer, and my kick-ass longwing brogues.

A couple things I really like about this outfit.  One, this jacket is sweet.  It's suede, very 70's, but not overbearing (as long as you stay away from polyester shirts while wearing it).  It's kind of a blazer, but kind of not, it's got awesome white detail stitching around the lapels and placket and it's short, but not too short and the sleeves are the perfect length.  I'm a big fan of clothes that don't fit neatly into one category and this is kind of all over the map.  (I'll get more into that in later posts)

The other thing I like about this outfit is the mix of colors and textures.  This is more rote fashion writing, but Jeans + a leather jacket = awesome, also it's suede so it's got its own thing going.  And it's a beautiful fall day so you can't go wrong with a pop of orange and a subdued wool tie.  To quote Ashely's friend "look at you all falled out... or autumed out... whatever."

Oh! and a sidenote, people on the intertubes are all down on boot-cut jeans.  These are levi's 527's.  They're my favorites and they totally fit.  So... everyone else can cram it.  These jeans are rockin.
